Vendor Day 2012

For Medical Equipment & Supplies

A cooperative venture is being announced by the military service medical logistics agencies located on Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD. The agencies involved are:

  • Defense Medical Materiel Program Office (DMMPO),
  • U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA), the
  • Naval Medical Logistics Command (NAVMEDLOGCOM), the
  • Air Force Medical Evaluation Support Activity (AFMESA), the
  • Air Force Medical Logistics Office (AFMLO), and the
  • U.S. Marine Corp Systems Command

This cooperative venture is a series of dates set aside for vendors of medical equipment and supplies only to display their products to multiple service organizations at one time. This event is referred to as Vendor Day.

The focus of these events is to assist the services’ medical logistics agencies with strategic market analysis of products and technologies that may be applicable to our austere medical environments. We do not support brick and mortar facilities in the U.S., but rather medical units located on land and ships and in challenging environmental conditions.

Vendor Days for 2012 will occur at the dates and times noted below and will take place at the Defense Medical Logistics Center (DMLC) located at 693 Neiman Street, Fort Detrick, MD  in the main conference room (1E200) on the first floor.

Please Note:

  • Vendors are encouraged to limit the quantities of products displayed to no more than six items.
  • Due to the limited space, Vendors may only attend one vendor day per calendar year.
  • The focus of this year’s venue is on “new” medical products or devices.
  • Participation will be limited to 25 qualified vendors.
  • Vendors are required to complete the online registration form for the day they would like to attend.
  • All registrations will be reviewed by the Vendor Day Review Committee
  • Vendors must identify at the time of registration what products they wish to show.
  • Vendors will be limited to a specific area for showcasing their products and will not bring extra shelters to accommodate additional items.
  • There will be no formal demonstration times set aside.
  • Interested participants will view products at their leisure within the time allotted for each day, much like at a conference exhibit hall.

Participation by a vendor does not in any way constitute approval of any product by any service organization and vendors will refrain from advertising as such. Participation by any vendor is solely at the discretion of members of the Vendor Day Review Committee.  The Review Committee is made up of representatives from each of the participating organizations (listed above).

The dates, times, product categories for each Vendor Day are listed below.
It should be remembered that products need to be suitable for use in an austere environment with extreme temperature ranges possible.

The Confirmation email will include additional information, directions and tips for the day of the event.

Day of the Event

Vendors are responsible for bringing everything they require for their displays.  A table and chairs will be provided for each vendor. Tables will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.  Vendors also need to bring sufficient handouts and other materials as needed. Copying services will not be available on post.  Although electrical power is available to Vendors, they are reminded that they are limited to a power draw of 5 amps per vendor due to an overall limitation at the selected venue.  Vendors must provide their own extension cords.  Vendors must keep in mind that space is very limited and therefore must take this into consideration for display and personnel planning.
