A world-class research institution located in Frederick Maryland. Fort Detrick is home to the United States Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), The National Cancer Institute (NCI-Frederick), and multiple other tenant organizations. Their primary mission includes biomedical research and development, medical material management and global telecommunications. Fort Detrick is Frederick County's largest employer and contributes more than $520 million to the local community.

TEDCO staffs the FDBDO with a staff member who manages the Fort Detrick Technology Transfer Initiative (FDTTI).

This individual facilitiates the creation of business enterprises, fostering their growth through the commercialization of technology.

TEDCO's partner in Frederick County staffs the FDBDO with a Business Development Specialist providing business planning advice and financial counseling.

This individual also coordinates access to the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI) workforce offering developmental services and incentives.
