Announcing New Director at Fort Detrick Business Development Office

We are excited to announce the selection of Christine Demas as the new Director of the Fort Detrick Business Development Office (FDBDO).  Ms. Demas follows Fiume Orwig, who led the FDBDO during its transition from the previous contractor. Ms. Demas is an entrepreneur with extensive experience in marketing and business development in the wireless and aviation industries. Ms. Demas was recently the Executive Director of the Fort Detrick Alliance, where she supported regional businesses and worked closely with the command at Fort Detrick.  In addition to her career experience and accomplishments, Christine has contributed significantly to the Frederick community.  She is the immediate past chair of the Frederick SCORE chapter.  In SCORE, veteran business volunteers counsel entrepreneurs to help them maximize their company’s potential. Ms. Demas is also no stranger to the military, as she served as a group leader with the Family Readiness Group for the 6th Brigade, 80th Division of the US Army. 

Under the direction of Ms. Demas, the FDBDO is going to focus on improving the quality and timeliness of information on contract opportunities at Fort Detrick. Additionally, we will soon begin scheduling training workshops on a variety of "how to" topics to provide the guidance businesses need to succeed in Federal contracting. We are also committed to reconnecting the FDBDO with vendors.
