A major part of the mission of the FDBDO is to enhance and promote collaboration between Fort Detrick, its Mission Partners, and the business community. We work together to leverage business partnerships, research partnerships, and educational partnerships throughout the nation.

Our Partners for Progress, presented below, join us in ensuring the success of those efforts. We salute them!

Fort Detrick is a world-class research institution that is Frederick County’s largest employer, contributing millions annually to the local community.

U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) The U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command is the Army’s medical materiel developer, with responsibility for medical research, development, and acquisition and medical logistics management. The USAMRMC’s expertise in these critical areas helps establish and maintain the capabilities the Army needs to support the warfighter.

U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is the contracting element of USAMRMC, providing support to Command headquarters and its worldwide network of laboratories and medical logistics organizations. USAMRAA also supports the Fort Detrick Garrison and its military tenant activities, Army-wide projects sponsored by the Army Surgeon General, and numerous Congressionally mandated programs.

National Interagency Confederation for Biological Research (NICBR) provides a collaborative environment where scientists conduct important studies on various diseases and support military services and government security organizations. NICBR serves the community through its unique business and educational relationships.

Fort Detrick Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) works to strengthen strategic partnerships with the small business community. The office is committed to supporting small businesses in their quest to provide relevant products, services and solutions in response to the myriad requirements associated with integrating research, acquisition, logistics and technology.
